Introduction to MPC: Mobile Priority Communications System

The information that flows in and out of all organizations is a vital resource. As individuals become more mobile, businesses become more global, and the volume of information grows. How we send, receive, collect, and share information becomes more complex and challenging.

Whether it is a news update sent to clients, a company bulletin broadcast to employees, a customer service gathering feedback, or activation of “first responders”, there is an ever increasing need to notify, confirm, and respond effectively. A flexible, fast, interoperable, automated, reliable, and accurate communications system is now a critical resource. It not only serves the everyday needs of our information rich businesses, but also responds to community events.

Great AmericanTechnologies, Inc. (GAT) has created the Mobile Priority Communication (MPC) Ssystem using MailCall’s advanced e-mail communications service to provide a solution for government, community, and business priority events and ongoing communication needs. Businesses and Community Organizations are utilizing the MPC system for their notification and response programs to facilitate daily operations and provide business continuity. State, County, and City agencies find that MPC provides real-time tactical, operational, and strategic information at an unprecedented level. MPC’s unique system also provides invaluable post-event ”Forensic Communication” analysis for their Police, Fire, and EMS services.

What is the MPC System?

Optimally, a mobile notification, confirmation, and response system should be flexible, fast, interoperable, automated, reliable, and accurate. Currently, only the GAT MPC system can provide all of these functions, becoming the key resource for agencies, businesses, and other organizations during critical events, as well as serving everyday communication needs. The MPC system, by utilizing three readily available components - an e-mail address, a telephone, and GAT’s MailCall service - becomes the most cost-effective solution because it requires no additional end-user devices, security systems, support staff, or servers.

MPC integrates two important technologies:

1. A mass notification system that can notify up to 2,000 individuals simultaneously every 60 seconds via voice, audio file, text message and e-mail simultaneously.

2. GAT’s MailCall remote access e-mail communication service allows users to verbally receive and reply to e-mail messages, initiate and send new e-mail messages with audio file attachments.

Unlike Blackberry and Palm solutions, the MPC system requires no additional equipment and is compatible with all telephones. In addition, the security system for cell phones is the most stringent and robust in the communications industry. There is no penetration of the firewall of the host organization while using the MPC system, as is required by Blackberry and Palm technologies..
